Every year we celebrate a Moravian style "love feast' during our Christmas service. This year it will be on December 20. The Moravian traditions, born in Czechoslavakia over three hundred years ago, are merely the humble serving of pastries and hot drinks to one another during a refreshment period in the middle of the worship service, and a beautiful candle lighting ceremony where everyone lights a candle. These symbolic acts almost explain themselves as we partake of them each year. You are invited to join us!
Throughout Advent we celebrate the tradition of the Advent Wreath. We use a wreath that has been enjoyed in the McMullen Household for several decades.
We culminate each Advent season with our Christmas Service on Dec. 20, which includes a Moravian Style Love Feast. The service is followed by our usual love feast (meal). Each family represented brings some food, and we always have enough. In fact, we eat pretty well, every time we get together.
Elders Russell Cushman, Michael Havens, and Faber McMullen will be teaching alternately between teachings by Daniel Schnaider.
Also! Daniel Schnaider has agreed to host a Thursday evening Bible study, where we can delve deep into God's Word and get more familiar with the culture Jesus was born in, the special subtle Hebrew meanings of his teachings, and the significance they have for us today.
Get on our email list so we can keep you apprised of these wonderful worship opportunites.
We praise God for the joy of studying His Word. Psalm 119:105
